Increasing productivity and profits thru the use of technology.

The first step toward increasing productivity and profits is to understand the purpose of the business. Whether you have been in business for years or if you are starting a business from the ground up this is an important step in developing the plan to move your business forward.

  • Purpose includes defining and understanding the organization's:

    • Mission  - what you do

    • Vision - where you are headed

    • Values - who you are

  • Putting together a business plan, or reevaluating the business plan as it exists, is essential. Together we will work on defining your mission, vision, short and long term goals into an actionable plan. We will then put in place a timeline to enable us to track the progress toward the established goals.

The second step toward increasing productivity and profits is to understand the roles of the employees in the business.  One of my favorite quotes is by Dwight D. Eisenhower "Motivation is the art of getting people to do what you want them to do because they want to do it".  The challenge comes with understanding your employees, their skills and what drives them. Then formulating a role to maximize their potential.

  • Understanding the people not only focuses on human resource development, but also :

    • Mind set – attitudes

    • Skill set – skill building to improve performance

    • Tool set – tools to aid in the application of a skill set

  • Before performance can be measured it is important to have clear expectations for the role outlined. Without clear expectations and measurable criteria, evaluating performance is too subjective.

  • Tools are developed and utilized to measure:

    • Customer satisfaction

    • Organizational culture

    • Team effectiveness

    • Individual performance

We will work together to develop role descriptions, define expectations, and put in place measures to track individual and team performance.

The third step toward increasing productivity and profitability is to conduct a process analysis. The objective of the process analysis is for  am here to work with you ....    We will work together to evaluate the existing process and identify opportunities to improve speed, accuracy, and job satisfaction while also increasing profits.

  • Process analysis includes:

    • What is done

    • Who does it

    • Why do they do it

    • Understanding the touch points with other organizations, individuals and technology.

  • "The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency. The second is that automation applied to an inefficient operation will magnify the inefficiency" (Bill Gates).  I will work with you and your organization to understand your current process and to provide opportunities to streamline and simplify the process, with the use of technology, to enable your business to meet the goals that we established earlier efficiently and effectively. Together we will prepare a plan and a timeline to implement changes that will enable us to meet the established goals.

The final step is the implementation of the established plans. Whether the changes involve implementing new technology, upgrading existing technology, or revising processes I will work with you and your staff to ensure a smooth transition.  Change is never easy and it will require teamwork.   I will leave you with one final thought and that is from Andrew Carnegie "Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results".

I look forward to working with you and your company to make YOUR  vision a reality.
